Authorities have recovered the body of a drowning victim from a pond at Pleasant Valley Golf Course.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says a 9-1-1 caller reported the drowning at 1:39 Wednesday afternoon. First responders arrived on the scene a short time later and learned the victim was fully submerged in a pond inside the Sand Road course. They were trapped under maintenance equipment and had been there for an unknown amount of time. The victim was recovered from the water and declared deceased at the scene by medical personnel.
This incident is being investigated by the sheriff’s office. The name of the victim is not being released at this time pending family notifications.
