Iowa City Animal Services is investigating a cat bite that occurred over the weekend.
A release says the bite occurred around 6 p.m., Friday, near the 1900 Block of Broadway Street. The cat is a small, black and white kitten. The bite victim reported transporting the kitten when the cat was startled, bit and scratched the victim, and ran away.
Iowa City Animal Services is seeking information on the rabies vaccination status of the cat. If anyone has any information, they are encouraged to contact Iowa City Animal Services directly at 319-356-5295 or the Iowa City Police Department at 319-356-6800.
