A wanted sex offender from Scott County has reportedly been found living in Oxford.
41-year-old Alexander Evans was booked into the Johnson County Jail at 1:00 Friday afternoon.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says Evans was found living at an address on Ohio Avenue on Oxford’s north end. Evans’ last listed address was in Scott County, although the Scott County Sheriff’s Office placed him on escape status in July of 2023. Evans has an out-of-state conviction on child pornography charges from 2011.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says the owner of the Oxford residence told them Evans had lived there for about three months, and he was living there when the sheriff’s office was searching for him last September.
Evans is charged with a Sex Offender Registry Violation. If convicted, he faces a maximum of two years in jail.
