North Liberty Police ask for public’s help identifying car burglar

The North Liberty Police Department is reporting a recent uptick in vehicle burglaries involving unsecured vehicles in the area and is looking for assistance identifying the person in these images capture from a private security camera on the 100 block of W. Weston Street around midnight on Aug. 9, 2024.

 

Officers are also asking area residents to check their own security cameras and to share any additional videos or images with investigators to help identify this person. Residents can contact the Joint Emergency Communications Center at (319) 356-6800.

Additionally, residents are reminded to lock their car doors and roll car windows up, and remove valuables or keep them out of plain sight. Front door and garage lights can help deter thieves from the vehicles parked in driveways. Residents can report any suspicious activity or crime in progress to 911.
