Iowa City Police have arrested a man they say assaulted and injured his own mother.
According to arrest records, just before 6:30 Tuesday night 24-year-old Robert Walker attacked his mother at the residence they share on Heinz Road, resulting in bodily injury to the mother.
Walker is charged with Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Injury. If convicted, he faces a maximum of one year in jail.
Walker pleaded guilty to an Extortion charge in 2018 after University of Iowa Police say he and a juvenile robbed two people at gunpoint outside Rienow Hall. Robbery and weapons charges were dropped in the plea deal.
Walker also has a history of rioting and theft convictions.
