Former University of Iowa basketball star Megan Gustafson returned to form in the Olympic quarterfinals Wednesday, but it wasn’t enough as Gustafson’s Spanish national team was eliminated by Belgium Wednesday morning 79-66.
Gustafson, who had been averaging a double-double for the tournament, had 21 points and seven rebounds in Wednesday’s loss. The 2019 NCAA National Player of the Year shot 8-of-16, including three-of-five from three-point range.
Gustafson struggled in her last game against Serbia on Saturday, scoring only four points with nine rebounds.
