An arraignment date has been set for an Iowa City man accused of assaulting a woman while forcing her to kiss him.

Iowa City Police say 20-year-old Kaden Leech of Gryn Drive was walking through the Old Capitol Town Center with the alleged victim on the afternoon of July 24th when he grabbed her hair and pulled her to him, causing pain to her head.  A short time later Leech allegedly grabbed the woman by the neck and pulled her to him while forcing a kiss.

The woman had red marks on her neck. She told police she was having trouble breathing as a result of the reported assault. The incident was caught on security video.

The two have been dating on and off for the last year-and-a-half.

Leech is charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury. If convicted he faces a maximum of one year in jail.

On Tuesday, Judge Jason Burns set an arraignment date of August 26th. Leech has multiple previous assault convictions.
