An Iowa City man arrested for assault on a person involved in a no-contact order against him faces multiple contempt charges after violating the agreement dozens of times from the Johnson County Jail.

Arrest records indicated 24-year-old Dondre Lee was arrested July 19th for Domestic Abuse Assault second offense, as well as second offense OWI and violating the no-contact order.  He was in court the same day and given another no-contact order.

Two days later, Lee used his Canteen account to call the protected party on her TextNow number 8 times; he successfully spoke to her 6 times.

An investigation allegedly connected information from Lee’s calls to life events for the protected party, such as subpoenas being issued, meetings with Victim Witness Coordinators, and Court hearings.  Records were also located from a Cedar Rapids pawn shop coinciding with Lee and the victim pawning off items and discussing money received.

In total, Lee is accused of violating the no-contact order a total of 119 times over a ten-day period.

He faces 11 counts of contempt; Lee is due in court Thursday for a Psychiatric residential treatment program hearing and next Monday for arraignment.
