A Keokuk County man is accused of trying to entice a pair of minors in Iowa City.

Iowa City Police say last May 28-year-old Skyler Hartwig of What Cheer began communicating with a person he believed to be a female under the age of 16. Hartwig allegedly sent the other person an explicit photo and video while urging her to meet with him. He allegedly tried to encourage her to sneak him into her house to spend the night. There were also reported discussions about sex acts he would like to commit with the other person, including with him and another male.

In June, Hartwig allegedly began communicating with another subject he believed to be under 16 years of age. Police say he sent a photo of an erect penis to the person, and encouraged them to participate in sex acts with him. Like in the previous case, he also reportedly mentioned including a third person in those sex acts.

Hartwig was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 2:00 Monday afternoon and charged with two counts each of Telephone Dissemination of Obscene Material to a Minor and Attempt to Entice a Minor for Sex Acts. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of eight years in jail.
