A North Liberty couple were arrested Wednesday night after an alleged attempt to steal merchandise from the Coralville Walmart.
According to police, 42-year-old Andres Rodriguez and 43-year-old Karina Perez Moreno of Holiday Lodge Road were reportedly seen on closed-circuit TV footage stacking multiple items on top of each other and not scanning all items before putting them in grocery bags.
The two allegedly pushed the unpaid items in a cart to the exit when they were stopped by asset protection. Value of the unpaid items totaled nearly $360.
Rodriguez and Moreno were both charged with 4th degree theft, a serious misdemeanor.
