A Sunday afternoon residential fire displaced Cedar Rapids residents.

According to a release from the Fire Department, crews were called to the 600 block of Weaver Road NW just before 5:30 on reports of a fire coming from the back of a two-story single-family home.

Firefighters arrived on scene and found fire in the back of the home.  The fire was located on the back porch and traveling up the rear wall of the home. Crews were able to keep the fire from entering the home.

It was unknown if smoke detectors were functional inside the home.

Residents were home at the time of the fire, but were able to get out safely. No injuries were reported. The home suffered fire damage to the exterior rear wall and porch of the home, with minor smoke and water damage to the interior.

The residents have been displaced as a result of the fire, which remains under investigation.
