A North Liberty man was arrested Sunday after allegedly being found in possession of a stolen e-bike.
57-year-old Leo Neuzil was stopped for a traffic violation at approximately 6:15pm on the 1400 block of South Gilbert Street. Officers conducted a probable cause search on his vehicle after a K9 alerted to the vehicle.
A cigarette box in the vehicle allegedly contained a cracked meth pipe with residue inside.
Neuzil had an E-bike strapped to a trailer attached to the vehicle. Officers ran the serial number and found it to be reported stolen through the Iowa City Police Department. Neuzil allegedly told officers that he paid $300 for the bike, which is worth $2700.
Neuzil has been charged with 2nd degree Theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. He could be sentenced to over five years in prison if convicted on both counts.
