A Coralville woman was charged with OWI after reportedly being involved in a single vehicle crash.

Just after 6pm on June 23rd, officers responded to an accident on the 2500 block of Corridor Way. Upon arrival, 34-year-old Caitlyn Jensen was reportedly found in the driver’s seat of a 2000 Toyota Camry.  The vehicle had swerved off the road and crashed into a tree.

Jensen was injured, and transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment.  A Coralville firefighter reportedly informed officers at the scene that he smelled the odor of ingested alcohol emanating from the vehicle as they extracted Jensen.

She was interviewed after having her Miranda rights read, and allegedly admitted to drinking a glass of wine earlier in the day. She consented to a blood sample, which was sent to the DCI crime lab.

On July 10th, the results determined her blood-alcohol content at the time of the accident was .110 percent.

Jensen was charged with OWI first offense, a serious misdemeanor.
