Former University of Iowa basketball star Peter Jok scored eight points in the South Sudan national team’s 101-100 loss to Team USA Saturday in London.
The Americans were down 16 at one point, but battled back with LeBron James hitting the game-winning layup with eight seconds left.
Jok’s eight points came on 3-of-5 shooting, including 2-of-3 from three-point range. He added two rebounds in his 15 minutes of action.
The two teams will meet again in group play in the Paris Olympics on July 31st.
