An Iowa City man has been arrested after sending lewd material to a female he believed to be underage.
22-year-old Fernando Marroquin Chacon of Amber Lane reportedly began communications with the female about sex acts on May 16th and stated that he wanted to meet with her. According to investigators, Chacon repeatedly asked the female for nude photos, to which she declined.
Chacon allegedly continued, telling the female that she should, quote, “escape at night,” and asked for her address more than once so that he could pick her up and they could engage in sex acts. He also reportedly sent nude photos and videos to the female.
On May 20th, Chacon allegedly sent a photo of a male masturbating to the female; on June 22nd, he reportedly sent a video to the female depicting an unknown female performing a sex act on a male that Chacon said was him.
A warrant was issued for his arrest on July 3rd; Chacon was booked at the Iowa City Police Department Tuesday and charged with two counts of telephone dissemination of obscene material to a minor and one count of attempt to entice a minor under 16. If convicted on all charges, Chacon could be sentenced to a maximum six years in prison.
