Iowa Lodge resident charged with bike theft

A resident at the Iowa Lodge has been arrested after he allegedly stole a bike from the University of Iowa Field House.

According to the criminal complaint, 42-year-old Brian Luedtka of Coralville was seen on camera arriving at the bike rack, cutting a lock, and leaving the area with the bicycle. Luedtka was located, and was able to escort officers to where he left the stolen bike. The bike was recovered and taken to the University of Iowa Police Department.

Value of the stolen bicycle was approximately $300, with the severed lock valued at $20.

Luedtka was charged with 4 th degree theft and could face up to a year in jail if convicted.
