A person who allegedly passed a gun to a man who reportedly shot a victim  in the Clock Tower Parking Ramp last year has been sentenced.

The night of May 13th  2023, 23-year old Alexander Voudhivong of Iowa City shot the man multiple times in the Ramp on Iowa Avenue. Police say he fled the area, changing clothes nearby in an attempt to disguise himself. Investigators determined he got the gun from 24-year-old Marquel Poole. The gun’s owner was Poole’s brother, Narada Poole Jr. of West Des Moines.

Voudhivong was sentenced in May to 12 years in prison and will not be eligible for parole for at least five years.

Marquel Poole was sentenced Tuesday to five years in prison on a charge of Willful Injury causing Serious Injury. Additional charges of Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault while Participating in a Felony and Going Armed with Intent were dropped as part of a plea deal.
