Cedar Rapids Police are investigating a Monday night shooting on the city’s Northwest side.
A release from the Department states that officers responded at approximately 10:14 pm to the 3100 block of O Ave NW following the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers encountered several individuals, including the person who fired a weapon and a person injured by gunfire.
The injured party was treated at the scene by first responders and transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The individuals involved in this incident have been interviewed. All parties are known to one another. Criminal charges related to this incident have not been filed as it remains under investigation.
