Swisher firefighters are warning residents about a recent Facebook scam.
A Tuesday afternoon post on the official Jefferson Monroe Fire Department Facebook page says someone is tagging their followers in the comments with a link purported to be for purchasing a Jefferson Monroe Fire Department t-shirt. The link is a scam, and the fire department says whenever it does sell merchandise, it would be posted from the official Jefferson Monroe Fire Department Facebook account.
The moderator says they are trying to delete the links and ban the users as quickly as possible, but new scam accounts keep popping up.
