An arraignment date has been set for a Coralville man accused of publicly masturbating inside the University of Iowa Fieldhouse.
UI Police say the incident took place in the men’s locker room at the Fieldhouse’s South Grand Avenue gym at around 6:30pm on May 5th. While in the sauna, 63-year-old Brett Mauk of Russel Blade Boulevard was allegedly observed masturbating in front of two other people. According to one of the witnesses, Mauk started masturbating under a towel, and could be seen stroking his erect penis multiple times. The witness also alleged Mauk smiled and winked at him.
Mauk is charged with Indecent Exposure, and could face up to one year in jail, if convicted. Online court records show Judge Deborah Minot has now set an arraignment date of July 8th.
