Johnson County Sheriff’s Office investigating Lake Macbride drowning

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Thursday afternoon drowning at Lake Macbride.
According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, the Joint Emergency Communications Center received a report just after 3:00 of a subject who had jumped into the water and did not resurface. First responders were dispatched to the area of Lake Macbride near the spillway into the Coralville Reservoir and began searching the water for the individual. The body of an adult male was recovered from the water at 4:19 p.m.
The name of the victim has not yet been released pending the notification of family.
