A Homestead Iowa man was taken into custody after an alleged indecent exposure incident from earlier this spring.

According to the arrest report, 66-year-old James Wallace was at an undisclosed address on Highway 1 in Iowa City the afternoon of March 27th and reportedly exposed himself, in the report’s words, “in an attempt to satisfy the sexual desires of either the other or himself.”

Wallace also allegedly showed obscene material to the victim, who found it offensive. Police say Wallace should have known the victim would be offended.

A warrant was issued on June 6th, and Wallace was arrested Tuesday. He was charged with Indecent Exposure, a serious misdemeanor. He was also wanted on marijuana and meth possession charges from an incident on May 3rd. He faces a jail sentence of up to three years if convicted on all counts.

Wallace was released on his own recognizance. A public defender was appointed to represent him.
