Former University of Iowa women’s basketball player Molly Davis has been named a graduate assistant at the University of Evansville.

Robyn Scherr-Wells, the team’s head coach, said in a school release that the Iowa coaches reached out to her about Molly’s interest in the opening, and knew she would be a great fit. Scherr-Wells said Davis “has a high basketball IQ and is a hard worker.”

The fan favorite’s playing career ended tragically, with a knee injury in the regular season finale keeping her from playing in the Big Ten Tournament and the NCAA’s, though she was put in in the final minute of the Finals.

Scherr-Wells said Davis has a bright future in coaching.
