Iowa City woman charged after allegedly spitting on downtown window displaying Trump sign

Allegedly spitting on a downtown window that was displaying a Donald Trump sign has led to criminal charges against an Iowa City woman.

Iowa City Police say 23-year-old Samantha Shea of South Dubuque Street was walking by 138 South Clinton Street…the former site of Active Endeavors…just before 11:45 Monday morning when she spit on the window. The wife of the building’s owner was cleaning the window at the time of the incident.

Shea later reportedly later told police she spit on the window because of the Trump sign. She’s now charged with 5^th Degree Criminal Mischief. If convicted, Shea faces a maximum of 30 days in jail.
