A Phoenix Arizona man has been accused of assault as the result of his alleged combative behavior when arrested early Saturday.

18-year-old Mekhi Gossitt was reportedly seen on Washington Street just after 2am throwing another man around and trying to fight. According to the police report, he had to be held back by multiple people and pushed several others.

In addition, Gossitt allegedly spit on officers from the back of the squad car as he was being taken to the Johnson County Jail.

He was charged with misdemeanor count of Disorderly Conduct, and a felony count of Assault by Inmate with Bodily Fluids or Secretions. If convicted on both charges, Gossitt could be sentenced to over five years in prison.
