An Iowa City woman who reportedly wanted to keep driving despite hitting two parked cars and a building was arrested for OWI Saturday afternoon.

Police say 64-year-old Brenda Enlow of Highway 6 East was in the 1800 block of Lower Muscatine Road when the incident occurred just after 12:30pm. At the McDonalds, she allegedly hit two parked cars and the building. It reportedly took employees from the fast-food restaurant to take Enlow’s keys away from her to keep her from driving away.

Upon contact, Enlow allegedly admitted to drinking and had a small empty bottle of liquor on her.  She reportedly had poor balance, smelled of ingested alcohol, and had urinated on herself.  Enlow showed signs of impairment on field tests, provided a PBT with a breath-alcohol level of .101 percent, and a Datamaster showing it at .071. A Drug Recognition Expert was called in and alleged that Enlow was impaired and unsafe to drive.

She faces first offense OWI, a serious misdemeanor.
