A Coralville man faces felony charges after two separate incidents Thursday.

41-year-old Draper Lewis of the Iowa Lodge is accused of intentionally punching and shattering the front window of his apartment. Reportedly, officers on scene at the time witnessed the incident. Management estimated cost of repair at $600.

Lewis was taken into custody and charged with 4th degree criminal mischief, a serious misdemeanor.

Later that night, Lewis was back at the apartment shortly after midnight when he allegedly grabbed his live-in domestic partner by the throat and held them down. He then reportedly struck the victim in the face while threatening to kill them.  The victim had injuries to the inside of their mouth and complained of pain.

Lewis had just been convicted of Domestic Abuse Assault in March, and had a prior conviction in 2010. He was charged with domestic abuse assault 3rd or subsequent offense, domestic abuse assault restricting airflow, and 1st degree harassment.

Coupled with the criminal mischief charge from earlier in the evening, Lewis could be sentenced to up to 13 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
