The North Liberty man taken into custody last week after allegedly being found in a residence without the homeowner’s permission is a sex offender who goes by several aliases.

Police were called to a home on Crippen Court Northeast Thursday and reportedly found 44-year-old Richard Lund passed out on a couch in the home’s basement. He was not given permission to be in the residence, and was detained.

He was charged with Trespass, marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lund could be sentenced to up to 13 months in jail if convicted on all counts.

A report from the Department of Correctional Services indicates that Lund has gone by over a dozen aliases, and was sentenced to ten years in prison in 2006 on a 3rd degree Sexual Abuse charge.

Lund, who is in the DCS system as Richard Raymond Woodring, now has 8 pending criminal cases, including 20 separate counts for criminal behavior, in addition to parole violations. He is in the Johnson County Jail on a $25,000 cash-only bond.
