A Shelter House resident faces felony charges after allegedly being caught committing two separate burglaries on Coral Ridge Mall businesses.

30 year old Terron Petersen was reportedly in the food court area of Coral Ridge Mall at 9:20 pm May 16th, after mall hours.  He allegedly crossed over the front counter of Mr. Shawerma and went to the back kitchen and office area. He reportedly located a cash register key, returned to the register, and opened it with the intent of taking money. Petersen allegedly fled through the back exit of the restaurant to a mall service hallway and used the south exit of the mall to flee.

Just three days earlier, Peterson allegedly jumped the counter of another unidentified Coral Ridge business just before 9pm and opened the cash register, taking about $400 in cash.

He was already in custody for the May 13th charge when a warrant was issued for the second alleged burglary. He’s now charged with two counts of 3rd degree Burglary, 3rd degree Theft, Trespass, and a Probation Violation. He could face up to 14 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
