A Marshalltown man was arrested on a warrant issued over a decade ago on an alleged series of thefts from his place of employment.

According to the criminal complaint, 35-year-old Beau Cahill was working at Fin and Feather and arrested on July 18th 2012 for 5th degree theft. Cahill allegedly voided a transaction totaling $26.74 at the register and reportedly pocketed the money.  He entered a guilty plea at his court appearance.

A further investigation of accounting records at the business allegedly showed that Cahill completed a series of transaction voids that he pocketed the money from.  It was estimated that he took over $1400 during the period beginning January 27th 2012 and ending with his arrest.

Cahill reportedly called the store manager and offered to pay back some of what he took from the business to avoid further prosecution, but was denied. The investigation determined Cahill took more than the amount he offered to repay.

A warrant was issued for Cahill’s arrest on September 13th, 2012 and he remained at large until Tuesday. He faces up to five years in prison if convicted on a 2nd degree Theft charge.
