An Iowa City man who failed to appear at a case management conference earlier this month on a disorderly conduct charge was additionally charged after allegedly resisting officers’ attempts to take him into custody.

30-year-old Frank Scott of Shelter House was charged with Disorderly Conduct back in November, and a Case Management Conference scheduled for May 13th. Scott failed to show and a warrant was issued for his arrest the next day.

Coralville Police were on the 1100 block of 5th Street Monday afternoon attempting to take Scott into custody. Seeing the officers in uniform, Scott reportedly ran and failed to obey commands to stop.  He was eventually caught, but continued to be resistive and caused a bleeding abrasion to one of the officers.

Scott was charged with Interference with Official Acts causing Bodily Injury, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a jail term of up to two years if convicted. The Disorderly Conduct charge from November is a simple misdemeanor punishable by a jail term of up to 30 days.
