The West Iowa City Transit route has been impacted due to construction on Newton Road.
The Hardin Library stop (Stop 0254) closed on Wednesday as construction preparation begins. The Veterans Affairs Hospital stop (Stop 0253) is expected to close in late June. Both stops will remain out of service during the duration of the project, which is anticipated to continue through late this year.
Passengers looking to catch the inbound West Iowa City bus can do so on Newton Road at the Dental College (stop 8201) or on Newton Road at the Medical Education Research Facility (stop 0256).
As of Wednesday the existing stop at Newton Road and Valley Avenue (Stop 8200) has been permanently removed. A stop has been added to the existing CAMBUS/Coralville Transit stop at Newton Road and Lincoln Avenue.
