An Iowa City man was arrested for OWI after allegedly being involved in not one, but two  hit and run collisions.

Police say 54-year-old David Raffensperger of Goldfinch Circle was operating a grey 2008 Toyota Thursday afternoon at around 2:45 near the intersection of First and Rochester avenues.  He was located at his residence after the hit-and-runs, and reportedly admitted to drinking before the incidents.

Raffensperger allegedly had bloodshot watery eyes, impaired speech, unsteady balance, and the odor of alcohol on his breath. After showing impairment during field tests, he submitted a Datamaster test, reportedly showing his breath alcohol level at .302 percent, over 3 ½ times the legal limit.

Raffensperger was charged with his first OWI, a serious misdemeanor. He appeared before Judge Brandon Schrock on Friday and was released on his own recognizance pending future court proceedings.
