The Iowa City Fire Department responded to a residential fire at 3369 Lower West Branch Road Friday morning.
ICFD crews were dispatched at 8:18 a.m. and arrived on the scene within four minutes. Responding firefighters encountered smoke showing from the roof ridge vent and eaves of the home. The occupants had safely exited prior to the fire department’s arrival.
The fire was brought under control at 9:01 a.m. The home sustained an estimated $100,000 in damage and the cause remains under investigation by the ICFD Fire Marshal’s office.
