A traffic stop two years ago has led to an Iowa City woman’s arrest on a drug charge warrant.

Police reportedly stopped 35-year-old Jasmine Johnson of Indigo Court in Iowa City as she was traveling westbound on Interstate 80 late May 3rd 2022 near the 249 mile marker for an undisclosed traffic violation. A K9 was deployed at the scene and alerted positive for the presence of drugs.

A subsequent probable cause search of Johnson’s Ford Fusion reportedly turned up three large heat-sealed bags of marijuana that weighed over two pounds.

A warrant was issued, and she has been charged with a Class D controlled substance violation and Failure to Affix Drug Stamp, which combined could lead to Johnson being sentenced to up to ten years in prison.
