University of Iowa Police have arrested a suspect accused of escaping from Iowa City Police during a car chase earlier this year.

A 2016 Ford Fiesta being driven by 25-year-old Salomen Allen of East Burlington Street was pulled over by UI Police at 5:15 Wednesday night in the parking lot of the UI Main Library on South Madison Street. Police say he was driving on a revoked license.

Allen was wanted after he reportedly refused to pull over for Iowa City Police while driving his 2018 Mazda just after 5:15 on the night of February 7th. He allegedly led police on a chase down Evans Street and Iowa Avenue at speeds exceeding 50 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone before getting away.

Allen is charged with two counts of Driving While Revoked and one count of Felony Eluding. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of seven years in prison.
