A registered sex offender has been arrested in Iowa City after he allegedly failed to register his vehicle with authorities.
Iowa City Police say just after 6:00 on the night of April 28th an officer drove by the G Street residence of 63-year-old Kelly Jensen and noticed two cars in the driveway. One was a 2006 Buick Rendezvous and the other a sedan with no plates. The Buick is registered to Jensen, who has been previously stopped by authorities while driving the vehicle.
Police say Jensen purchased the vehicle last July, but never reported it…as required…to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office. He’s now charged with a Sex Offender Registry Violation. If convicted, he faces a maximum of two years in jail.
Jensen was convicted on a Johnson County charge of Indecent Exposure in 2006. An investigation determined that he exposed himself to a 16-year-old girl inside his then-Taylor Drive residence by removing a bath towel while in her presence.
