A Coralville man was charged with Enticing a Minor after allegedly making plans to have sex with an underage girl.
Police say 19-year-old Mainor Gutierrez Banegas began communicating with a female he believed to be a girl under the age of 16. During the conversations, he allegedly stated that he wanted to engage in sex acts with the girl.
He reportedly made arrangements to pick up the girl Thursday morning, take her back to his residence for sex, then return her to school. When Gutierrez Banegas arrived at the pre-determined location, he was arrested.
Gutierrez Banegas could be sentenced to up to five years in prison if convicted on the charge.
