An area transient faces burglary charges after an incident at the Guidelink Center earlier this year.

On March 29th, 38-year-old Kofi Adu Sarkode was reported to be inside the locked area of the building that is only accessible to patients and staff.  He’s accused of stealing multiple items on the property.

Security footage reportedly showed Sarkode hopping over a fence and entering the building through a patio door.

Sarkode was also wanted after an alleged assault of an employee at CVS Pharmacy on Muscatine Avenue on February 26th.  In that incident he reportedly pushed and grabbed an employee who was trying to get him to leave, causing her to become fearful.

If convicted on the counts against him, Sarkode could be sentenced to over 12 years in prison.
