An area transient was taken into custody Sunday night after an alleged assault at Shelter House.

40-year-old Brandy Fulton was at the facility just before 7:30 pm when she reportedly struck an individual in the face several times with a closed fist, and caused a TV to fall on them causing a laceration to their leg.

When officers came to arrest Fulton, she allegedly tried to leave the scene, and told them she was going to find the victim.  Fulton also reportedly voluntarily admitted that she attacked the victim and said that she’d do it again.

Fulton was given multiple commands to remain, but reportedly threatened to assault the officers if they wouldn’t get out of her way.  She was handcuffed and continued to resist being taken to the squad car. She allegedly had to be carried to the vehicle.

A post-arrest search  reportedly turned up a glass and rubber pipe that contained marijuana debris.

Fulton was charged with Assault causing Bodily Injury, Interference with Official Acts, and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted on all counts, she could be sentenced to up to 14 months in jail.
