An Iowa City man was charged with OWI after getting himself stuck on railroad tracks.
The incident occurred just after midnight on Wednesday near the intersection of Old Highway 218 and McCollister. 30-year-old Luke Parker of South Riverside Drive reportedly ran his vehicle up on nearby railroad tracks and was stuck.
Upon officer arrival, Parker allegedly had bloodshot watery eyes, impaired speech, unsteady balance, and had the odor of ingested alcohol. He reportedly admitted to drinking before driving and said he was coming home from a bar.
Parker began but did not complete field tests. He refused a PBT and Datamaster. He was also unable to provide proof of insurance, which resulted in his plates removed and the vehicle towed.
Parker faces a maximum one year in jail if convicted on the OWI charge.
