An Iowa City man who would only identify himself as “Good Person” was arrested for allegedly being involved in a fight.

Officers were called to the 400 block of South Scott Boulevard at around 7:20 pm Monday on reports of a fight involving multiple persons.  As officers were sorting out the altercation, they asked one of the suspects to identify himself. He would only say his name was “Good Person.”

He was, in fact, 39-year-old Gary Jones of Pepperwood Lane.

Jones reportedly refused multiple directives to provide his legal name and refused each time.  Police were only able to identify him through previous booking photos.

Jones allegedly had the odor of ingested alcohol, bloodshot watery eyes, impaired speech, poor judgement, was repetitive and argumentative.  He reportedly refused a PBT post-arrest.

Jones faces Public Intoxication and Harassment of a Public Official charges and could be sentenced to up to 60 days in jail if convicted on both counts.
