An Iowa City man was arrested after an investigation determined that he possessed and shared images of child porn.
According to police, 30-year-old Christopher Pohlman of Westgate Street knowingly promoted visual depictions of minors engaging in sex acts by transmitting photos over Tumblr beginning on November 7th, 2020.
Additionally, beginning in September 2018, Pohlman allegedly collected approximately 1200 images and videos depicting children engaged in sex acts. Investigators reportedly found the images in social media data and digital devices associated with Pohlman.
A warrant was issued on Thursday, and he’s been charged with Purchase or Depiction of Minors involved in a sex act, and Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. If convicted on both counts, Pohlman could be sentenced to up to seven years in prison.
