Governor Kim Reynolds has signed a bill into law that is directed to help the Perry Community School District after a tragic shooting there earlier this year.

The bill allows the district to use the allocated funds to give retention bonuses to school staff, and allows the District to skip state reporting, assessments, and other requirements.

The District’s superintendent asked for state funds to help retain remaining staff after noting that other districts across the country experiencing similar tragedies have seen over 40 percent of their staff leave their positions.
