Iowa City bars are expecting huge crowds for Friday night’s Final Four matchup between the Iowa and UConn women’s basketball teams, with one bar in particular likely to make sure it’s stocked up on enough beer.

The Daily Iowan reports Brother’s ran out of Busch Light during Monday night’s Elite Eight matchup between Iowa and defending national champion LSU. Brother’s manager Trey Jennings told the newspaper that running out of a specific brand of beer on a Monday night is not common. He noted that the bar makes its beer orders on Tuesday mornings, meaning it was not out of Busch Light for long.

The interest in the Hawkeye women’s basketball team isn’t limited to just Iowa City. Monday night’s game was the highest-rated college basketball game…men’s or women’s…in ESPN history, as well as the highest-rated women’s basketball game of all time. It was also the highest-rated program on television Monday night…more than doubling the highest-rated program on broadcast television that night: CBS’s NCIS.

The Iowa/LSU rematch had more viewers that the 2023 NBA Finals, the 2023 World Series, and the Orange, Cotton and Peach Bowls.
