A former Clear Creek Amana middle school coach was sentenced in federal court last week for receiving and viewing child pornography over the course of several years.

The Gazette reports 48-year-old Corey Lester Schlemme of Oxford reached a plea deal last year, pleading guilty to one count of receiving child pornography. A second count of possession of child pornography was dismissed as part of the deal.

Court documents indicate Schlemme possessed and received numerous images of child pornography showing children as young as 7 to 9 years old from December 2019 to March 2021. He also allegedly created several Facebook accounts where he pretended to be a teenage girl, and encouraged one 15-year-old girl to produce child porn and send it to him.

The Gazette reports Schlemme admitted to viewing child pornography for three to four years before he was arrested.

He was assistant track coach from April 1st 2019 until his termination on August 19th 2021.

Schlemme was sentenced to 17 years in prison, with five years of supervised release and a $5000 fine payable to the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act.
