A Cedar Rapids man was arrested after an alleged assault at a downtown Iowa City bar this weekend.
Police say the incident occurred at DC’s on South Dubuque Street Sunday just after 1am. 21-year-old Dayvon Long of 21st Avenue reportedly assaulted the victim by punching in the head several times. The reported attack left the victim bleeding from the head with several large contusions.
The assault was the result of an alleged argument that had occurred a few minutes earlier.
Police arrested Long and charged him with Assault Causing Bodily Injury, a serious misdemeanor. If convicted, he faces up to a year in jail.
