An Iowa City woman was charged with assault after an incident last month at a downtown bar.
According to the police report, 21-year-old Emalee Davis of South Linn Street identified herself as being involved in an altercation outside the Fieldhouse on South Dubuque Street just before midnight on February 22nd. Although others were involved physically, Davis seemed to only be involved verbally.
She then entered the Fieldhouse later and reportedly ran into another individual. Davis then allegedly pushed the woman and threw punches at her, landing one on her face. The victim suffered a fractured orbital bone, and told officers she didn’t have contact with Davis prior to the altercation and didn’t know her.
Davis was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury on Monday and could be sentenced to up to a year in jail if convicted. A no-contact order was issued by Judge Jason Burns between the two parties.
