A Lone Tree woman was taken into custody last week after allegedly committing elder abuse.

Police say the incident occurred at the Wapsi Avenue SE residence of 33-year-old Leeanna Kasper. On the afternoon of March 14th, she got into a verbal argument with the elderly victim.  The incident reportedly escalated to the point where Kasper grabbed the woman by the neck and choked her. She also allegedly hit the woman in the face, leaving red marks and bruising on the face and neck.

Kasper reportedly took the elderly woman’s phone so she couldn’t call for help. The woman got away and found a deputy. When confronted, Kasper allegedly refused commands and resisted arrest.

Kasper has been charged with Domestic Abuse Assault impeding Airflow, 2nd offense Domestic Abuse, False Imprisonment, Interference with Official Acts and Obstruction of Emergency Communications.  If convicted on all counts, she could be sentenced to over seven years in prison.

A no contact order was issued by Judge Christine Boyer on Monday.
