A Shelter House resident is accused of throwing a metal water bottle at an innocent bystander, causing a minor injury.
Iowa City Police say just before 4:15 Tuesday afternoon 59-year-old Anita Duke threw the bottle in the direction of another person with whom she had just been engaged in a physical altercation. The bottle missed and struck a bystander in the arm, causing pain and swelling.
Duke is charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury. If convicted, she faces a maximum of one year in jail.
